We've had a great month in June and July – from opening new accommodation on site through to weddings and family corporate days for a few hundred people – not to mention gaining our Liquor License – so we can now sell alcohol in-house – watch out for our new wine list to be launched soon on a sale or return basis…
At the end of May we received sign off on the two new Archway en-suite double bedrooms – which can be hired separately or in addition to The Willows. Some before and after photos for you!
The Archways have already proved very popular – the flexibility means you can rent them as individual rooms or interlinking to make 2 or 5 double rooms.
In the middle of June we hosted the Henderson Groups Gala Dinner in Aid of the NSPCC which we were thrilled to help with – and an amazing £40,000 was raised for the charity. The following week Kainos held their family BBQ with us and whilst the weather was nowhere near as good as the week before the bouncy castles in the paddock were a huge hit with all the children – and the BBQ and bar went down well with the adults!
Weddings have also been busy, and the gardens whilst slightly out of sync this year from the normal have now come into their full bloom. In June the Rhododendrons around the Fish Pond Lake were incredible – we feel so lucky to be here full time!
We have loved helping our lovely couples over the past month with their weddings – from one couple who had their venue cancel on them at late notice (!!!) to another who had had to change the date late notice a couple of years ago. From the feedback and smiley faces the next day they and their guests all had fantastic times at Larchfield – which is the aim!
From birthday parties to anniversaries, engagement parties to smaller weddings – or even a crèche for the smaller guests at a wedding the Stables has been well used this month – Happy Ruby Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Keating who had a surprise Anniversary Party here last Sunday lunch time – we would have loved to see their faces when their daughters told them where they had booked!
Whilst we will be continuing our no corkage policy at Larchfield Estate (which can literally save you hundreds of pounds when comparing us to other venues) we are also launching our own in-house wine list which will be available to all couples if they would like to prevail of it. We plan to select a number of really good wines, at very reasonable prices that will be available on a sale or return basis to clients. If you would like a copy of the new wine list then do let us know and we will forward this as soon as it is finalised. The awarding of the liquor license obviously now means we can run a pay bar in house for you, run wine tasting events and a whole host of other services.
The next month holds some more fun weeks for us – we are currently repairing the lean too area opposite the Stables that was damaged in the heavy snow at the end of March and sprucing up the clock tower with new red paint. The lake is having an overhaul as weed has cropped up in the warm and wet weather, and Clifford the gardener continues the battle against cheeky weeds popping their heads up in the gardens. The ducklings on the Fish Pond Lake are doing well – three batches so far... and we are of course busy helping with the planning and co-ordination of lots of lovely weddings – including one which will be 5 weeks in planning – we first met the couple last week and their wedding is in 5 weeks time – we have it almost all pulled together – thank you so much to all our suppliers who have made this possible.
