As a wedding photographer and videographer based in Belfast, I’ve had the immense privilege of capturing love stories across many beautiful venues, but few compare to the charm and character of Larchfield Estate. Nestled in the Northern Irish countryside, it’s a venue that effortlessly combines rustic elegance with warm hospitality – and one I’m proud to be a recommended supplier for.
When Priyanka and Brendan chose Larchfield Estate as the setting for their Indian-Irish wedding celebration, I knew we were in for something extraordinary.
Priyanka began her day in Belfast city centre, surrounded by her bridesmaids and close family as she prepared for the celebrations ahead. Meanwhile, Brendan and his groomsmen were getting ready on-site at Larchfield, dressed in traditional Indian wedding attire – striking sherwanis that brought a vibrant cultural flair to the morning.
Unlike Western weddings where the bride usually makes the grand entrance, Indian wedding traditions allow the groom a festive arrival known as the Baraat. Brendan’s entrance was a joy to witness – full of music, dancing, and colour. It was a true celebration of culture and unity, and one that fit beautifully within the picturesque surroundings of Larchfield.
The ceremony itself was nothing short of magical. Priyanka’s entrance – carried in by her family with her face veiled by betel leaves – was deeply symbolic and emotionally powerful. The ceremony took place under a mandap, honouring Hindu wedding rituals, and concluded with Western vows and a heartfelt Celtic handfasting ceremony – a perfect fusion of two cultures.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a joyful confetti moment and delicious cuisine provided by The Panjab, a renowned Indian restaurant in Carryduff. This blend of Indian hospitality and Northern Irish warmth made for an atmosphere full of love, laughter, and connection.
Despite a few spells of rain, we found time to explore Larchfield’s stunning gardens for bridal portraits. From blooming borders to hidden courtyards, this venue offers endless photo opportunities – ensuring that no two weddings look alike.
As day turned to evening, the couple and guests changed into their evening attire. Brendan swapped his sherwani for a classic tuxedo, and Priyanka dazzled in a shimmering gold gown. Their grand entrance to the dining room – complete with choreographed dances and champagne – set the tone for a night of unforgettable celebration.
Priyanka and Brendan’s Indian-Irish wedding at Larchfield Estate was a vibrant, heartwarming celebration of love, heritage, and togetherness. As a photographer, I’m incredibly honoured to have captured the essence of this beautiful day – a day that exemplified how Larchfield is the perfect venue for multicultural weddings in Ireland.
I’m Jamie – photographer, videographer, and a passionate storyteller based just outside Belfast. I specialise in capturing the authentic emotion of your day in an unobtrusive, relaxed way – especially for those who feel a bit camera shy.
If you're planning an Indian wedding in Ireland or a cultural fusion celebration, I’d be thrilled to help you tell your story.
